Participants will generate material and explore their unique voice as a creator through writer's room style conversations as well as through prompts around narrative, experience, and identity. In the first few sessions, we will draw on Deb Margolin's Theatre of Desire ("What must you say? What must you work on?") as well as discuss essential examples of text from and against self (including Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak and selections from the Russian masters, i.e. "A Swim In A Pond In The Rain" by Chekhov, "Master & Man" by Tolstoy). Sessions will create an accountability scaffolding as well as provide structure week to week, always focusing on pages, questions, and conversations around process and next steps as a creative artist.
Class size is strictly limited. All learning is online and synchronous.
